Two tests worth running, without an index

  • A smaller discount: 20 against 30 percent

Discount size showed no clear pattern in what shops kept, so a smaller one is worth a test.

  • Start your Black Friday tests in October

The typical Black Friday test is first observed four days before Black Friday.

From a concept to a live test

  • Every concept as a ready idea

Each one with its Likelihood to Win for your shop, so you start with the strongest.

The score ranks an idea against your own backlog; it is not a win probability in the strict sense.

  • Built from the chat

Describe the change in ChatGPT or Claude. Apex builds the variant, you approve it and launch.

  • Guardian on

Pauses a test when a variation gets no conversions while the original converts, or clearly converts worse.

Questions about the data

What does “kept” mean?

A test counts as kept when we later saw the new version served to every visitor. Revenue and the reason behind the decision are not visible to us, so we say kept, never won. Each index compares how often a kind of test was kept with the average test on the same testing tool (1.0).

Where does the data come from?

From observed tests. Every A/B test changes the page that real visitors see, so it runs in public. We have observed 4.3 million A/B tests from 151,000 online shops, collected since 2011: one of the largest A/B test databases in e-commerce.

Who are the shops in the phones?

Well-known shops we observed running a test of that kind. We do not name them; the screens only show where the element sits on the page.

Is this for my shop?

The tests come from online shops of every size. Apex is built for shops with six-figure monthly revenue; Shopify and Scayle work out of the box.

What happens after sign-up?

You connect your shop and add the ideas you want to run. Each gets its Likelihood to Win for your shop, and you build from the chat. The first 30 days are free, without a card.
